Nicole Clift is an emerging visual artist and writer based in Adelaide, South Australia. She graduated with Honours from Adelaide Central School of Art in 2019, and is currently Artist in Residence at Carclew.
Nicole Clift's work takes the humble household curtain as a site to playfully and conceptually investigate. Clift is interested in the contained air and space stored within a curtain's folds, and the potential for thoughts and memories to similarly remain captured within these spaces. Beyond the curtain lies the window, offering both internal and external views, which Clift employs as a subversion device in her photographic investigations of changing associations to home.
